Senior Backend Engineer (m/f/d) – Go, OpenTelemetry & Data Pipelines

Obseria processes logs, metrics, traces and profiles from our customers' systems in real time. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you build the services that ingest, filter, enrich and store this telemetry, reliably and at scale.

Your tasks

  • Design and build backend services for telemetry ingestion via OTLP and Prometheus remote write
  • Develop Obseria Pipeline: filtering, PII masking, enrichment and routing of data streams
  • Build and maintain APIs, the CLI backend and the MCP server for coding agents
  • Make services observable, resilient and cost-efficient: profiling, load tests, SLOs
  • Run what you build on Kubernetes in the cloud, with CI/CD and infrastructure as code
  • Contribute to open-source projects such as OpenTelemetry where it makes sense

Your profile

  • Several years of professional backend development, ideally with Go (Rust or Java is also welcome)
  • Experience with distributed systems, message queues or streaming (e.g. Kafka) and databases
  • Good knowledge of Kubernetes, containers and at least one major cloud
  • Interest in observability; experience with OpenTelemetry or Prometheus is a strong plus
  • Pragmatic, quality-conscious and comfortable with code reviews and testing
  • Very good English, German is a plus
